Overview

SLW Automotive was formed in November 2009 following the acquisition of a controlling interest in the BorgWarner Fluid Pumps Division by the Shenglong Group. The Shenglong vision was clear – through a defined product and services focus, long term investment strategies and an unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction, turn SLW into a globally recognized leader in pumping systems. The association between the Shenglong Group and BorgWarner goes back to 1998, the time of the establishment of the BorgWarner Shenglong joint venture in Ningbo, China.

This strong relationship enabled a smooth post acquisition transition so that SLW has retained the expertise of a vastly experienced workforce and inherited the business disciplines of a large corporation. At the same time, as a result of being a privately owned corporation our culture demands speed, nimbleness, and a high degree of flexibility and entrepreneurial awareness.

These attributes, combined with world class engineering and production facilities and systems, enable SLW to provide our customers with advanced pumping system solutions incorporating a wide range of mechanical and electronic technologies. In our industry we know our customers face numerous challenges and we understand that our future success is dependent upon helping them compete in a difficult global market place.

• 1974 – Coltec Industries Launched Mechanical Air Pump Production as Holley Special Products Division
• 1983 - Ford Q1 Certification
• 1988 - Began Engine Lubrication Pump Production for Ford Motor Company
• 1990 - Launched First Electric Air Pump Production for GM
• 1995 - Launched Electric Air Pump Production for Ford and Renault/Sagem
• 1996 - BorgWarner Purchased Plant & Design Center from Coltec Industries
• 1998 - Quality Management Standards QS9000/ISO9000 Certification
• 2002 - Environmental Standards ISO14001 Certification
• 2005 - Phaser Launch
• 2006 - Quality Management System Emphasizing Defect Prevention TS-16949 Certification
• 2009 - Ningbo Shenglong Group Co., Ltd. Purchased the Fluid Pump Division from BorgWarner
• 2009 – Developed an Innovative DCT Pump for Audi and Nissan
• 2010 - Strategic Alliance with DGE, Inc.
• 2011 - Established new Detroit Design and Sales Center (DDSC)
